Reminder: Workshop/Meeting Sunday June 26, 2011
Please join us for a special workshop by Clay Martin, followed by a meeting of the Puppeteers of Puget Sound, on Sunday, June 26 from 2 to 5pm at Seattle University’s Vachon Gallery.
The Vachon Gallery at Seattle University is located on the north end of campus in the Fine Arts Building, which backs up to Madison Street just east of Broadway. Seattle University is located at 901 12th Ave, Seattle, WA 98122, between Madison and Jefferson.
Clay Martin, who has been a puppeteer for more years than he cares to admit, will present a demonstration of the art of hand puppetry combined with a true history and authentic account of how he came to be enmeshed in this sordid lifestyle. A highly entertaining cautionary tale for the whole Family!
As part of the presentation, Clay will share his RAG BALLET, a piece about how to make your own puppet from a bandanna and a rubber band and do your own show. Everyone is encouraged to bring your own bandannas, in order to follow along. Clay will have a bag of the right sized rubber bands.
Following the workshop, members will be voting on the newly revised bylaws.
Everyone is also encouraged to bring along their own hand puppets (from shows, collections, or made-especially-for-the-meeting) for sharing or a little impromptu puppeteering during the meeting.
Hope to see you there!
