Combined National Day of Puppetry and World Day of Puppetry on March 21, 2015

The Puppeteers of Puget Sound, a guild of the Puppeteers of America, invite you to see and support the work of PUPPETRY ARTISTS on the combined National Day of Puppetry and World Day of Puppetry on March 21, 2015. Celebrate Art and Culture through Puppetry!


Northwest Puppet Center: 9123 15th Ave NE, Seattle

1:00PM and 3:00PM                                 Tickets: $9-$11                           

Bathtub Pirates – Grey Seal Puppets stages an inventive show where a bubble bath turns into a pirate adventure!  A child’s imagination takes an unexpected turn when Captain Blackbeard and his motley band of pirates need a new ship. Found object puppets made from items found in a bathtub!

Thistle Theatre: Magnuson Park Theatre, 7110 62nd Street, Seattle

1:00PM and 3:00PM                               Tickets: $10                            

Momotaro (Peach Boy) – Momotaro magically emerges from a peach, bands together with a dog, a monkey and a pheasant to defeat the Oni (ogres) who have been stealing from his family village.

Tabletop Bunraku and origami puppets are used to tell the most celebrated children’s story in Japan.

Vox Fabuli Puppets and Crash Boom Puppets: Pocket Theatre, 8312 Greenwood Ave N, Seattle

8:30PM – 9:30PM                     Tickets: $10 online $14 at the door   

In Felt-a-thon Live see behind-the-scenes magic firsthand as the cast and crew shoot a video inspired by Design Month’s Pillow Fort Set. You may be invited to put on a puppet and become part of the action or relax and be a member of the studio audience.


Seattle Children’s Theatre: 201 Thomas St., Seattle  (Seattle Center)

2:00PM and 5:30PM                               Tickets: $25-$36                                     

Goodnight Moon(Musical production of book by Margaret Wise Brown and Clement Hurd) Enjoy the surprise and delight of Bunny’s imaginative detours on the way to dreamland.  In this production, everyone will revel with Bunny in the fun of jumping cows, dancing bears and a room that springs to life.

Planet of the Puppets will be in the market with an amazing assortment of pop-up puppets.  Look near the Joe Desimone Bridge and Stewart St, the area that juts out over Western Ave.
