This October, Fussy Cloud Puppet Slam returns, celebrating 4 fabulous years of providing quality puppet shows for the fine adults of Seattle with VOLUME 10.
Seattle’s Fussy Cloud Puppet Slam is a cabaret-style puppet show for grown-ups. Each short piece – creative, quirky and often experimental – is created and performed by puppeteers from the Pacific Northwest (and beyond!) From the brand spanking new to the tried-and-true, every act is guaranteed to have one important thing in common: puppets.

During the day before the slam October 10, Fussy Cloud Puppet Slam is co-producing another event: The first FELT-A-CON, a day of activities celebrating the art of puppeteering.
Fussy Cloud Puppet Slam Volume 10 is produced by Rachel Jackson, and presented in association with Theatre Off Jackson. Funding made possible in part by the Puppet Slam Network.

A proud member of the national Puppet Slam Network, Fussy Cloud Puppet Slam has been providing quality puppet shows for the fine adults of Seattle since 2011. Fussy Cloud Puppet Slam aims to promote the puppetry community and support the growth and exploration of both new and seasoned puppeteers in the Pacific Northwest through our ongoing performance series. From hilarious to heartbreaking to horrifying, every performance features a variety of fascinating short works by puppeteers from the Pacific Northwest (and beyond)!

Puppeteer Mary Shaver will perform Issun Boshi: the Tiny Samurai, the Japanese tale of the small overcoming the large and being the hero. Following the performance, Mary will lead a hand puppet manipulation workshop, including a hand puppet manipulation hand out. By the end of this workshop we promise your puppetry skills will be improved!
Mary Shaver is an artist, master puppeteer, and educator who spent twenty-five years living in Asia and Europe while traveling extensively worldwide. She performs, lectures, and consults; starred for three years on the award-winning children’s television show “Pepe’s Magic Tales”; has created for movies and major television networks. Honey Goodenough, of Puppet Slam fame and a 2015-2016 UNIMA board member, considers Mary Shaver an inspiration for her puppet career.

SAVE THE DATE! Next meeting will center around the art of hand puppetry, featuring a performance by Mary Shaver.
Mary Shaver is an artist, master puppeteer, and educator who spent twenty-five years living in Asia and Europe Mary Shaver performs, lectures, and consults and starred for three years on the award-winning children’s television show “Pepe’s Magic Tales”. Instructional handout will be provided at the workshop/performance meeting.
The first FELT-A-CON, a day of activities celebrating the art of puppeteering, will be held Saturday, October 10, at Theatre Off Jackson.
FELT-A-CON is a day for networking, education, fun, and outreach. We welcome both professionals and enthusiasts, and puppeteers of all skill levels, from beginners to legends.
