Jean Enticknap 1949-2021

Puppeteers of Puget Sound is sad to announce the passing of Jean Enticknap, long-time PoPS member and officer, on New Year’s Eve.

Her death is a huge loss to the world of puppetry and especially to us here in the Pacific Northwest. Jean was a woman of many talents, much humor, and a gregarious spark that was reflected in her dedication to puppetry and to our guild. She was a mentor to countless puppeteers and other artists, giving many young performers their first professional gigs.

Through Thistle Theatre, she produced decades of exquisite tabletop Bunraku-style puppet shows. More recently, she was also involved with the award-winning, locally-produced children’s show Look, Listen and Learn as “friend, partner, and Possum’s Mom.”

I'm a college librarian and dabble in puppetry. Nettle (my profile picture and creation) enjoys reading and singing with preschoolers as well as annoying my colleagues.
